Drum
Roll - Here's My Take on Big Band Week |
| Alex
& Sierra
Now it is
time to try not to hurl. I can't stand these
two. They've been particularly awful
these past few weeks - they sound horrible - they look
like a caricature of young love - she's a hippie - he's a
gonad-less metrosexual asswipe. There is
nothing that they represent that I like. And
their sound is dangerous to one's hearing.
And now the
performance.... good grief - they are dedicating the
performance back to each other ... vomit ... he is dressed
in a suit and looks like Gomez Adams and she looks like a
red version of Morticia with long hair that looks like it
came from a cocker spaniel.
The
performance was pitchy and irritating - it was the hearing
equivalent of having a tick under your skin - itchy and
irritating. She has a face that looks like a
standard poodle. These two would be
perfect for a Vegas act where you only puke up a buffet -
at least you can go back for seconds after puking the
first course.
The singing
is over and the cats are no longer yowling. |
| Carlito
Olivero
He is only
on the show because of his latino appeal - one of the
least talented performers on the stage.
Tonight he whored his latino roots and pandered with
spanish and english words - unfortunately the background
music was better than his vocals.
Weakest performance tonight. Why is it if you
are part latino you have to exploit? This is
not Mexico. Yet, all things considered, it was
his best performance, but that would like saying the
newest AMC Gremlin off the line was the best of the
bunch. Minutes later, it started to
disintegrate and that was no longer true. |
| Ellona
Santiago
Last week
this performer looked like a cheap Chinese hooker.
She was awful. Is it possible that she could
be worse - it wouldn't take much to be better.... and then
she followed it up with another awful week.
She's on the bubble - very limited talent and questionable
makeup application. She needs to tone down the
paint job on her eyelids - she looks like Earl Scheib's
did the work with paint left over from some drag queen
float. Well
- she looks like some oriental tramp in a white hat and
outfit - once again ethnic caricature on display - looks
like a dimestore pinoy slut - red lipstick looks like
something you'd see in a porn movie. Her
singing is shrieky and screaming - egads - now the suit
and hat are off - she does now revert back to hooker look
- long bare legs and gold glittery showgirl
costume. Well, at least she looks like
she sounds. She'll be going home along
with the hispanic caricature, Carlito. |
| Jeff
Gutt
His best
performance ever. He is a dark horse. |
| Josh
Levi
This could
be tough - watching the background tape on this kid - he
is a nice guy but really not much of a performer - average
voice - absolutely no stage presence.
And now the
performance - well the good night ended - he is trying to
be Michael Jackson in a suit. I don't care for
him and his weak vocal is really showing up - he really
can't sing well - trying to sound like a stereotypical
black performer with the extra runs and
mannerisms. At least the pants fit and
weren't around his testicles. All things
considered it was his best performance to date which is at
least keeping this show way above the past two weeks of
awful performances. |
| Lille
McCloud
I like her
- I hope she does well tonight... Awkward
vocal performance - sounds caricaturish - very nasal
quality to it - not one of my favorite performances of
hers. She might be in danger with that. |
| Restless
Road
I love
these guys - they are so hot looking, and I love their
personalities - but lately they've lost that something
special - they haven't been themselves in a while now -
three weeks or so. And when I heard it
was big band week, I knew this was going to be a fourth
week of yuck.
Well, these
guys are back - omg - they were dressed in suits - one in
tie, one in bowtie - one with the shirt open - and the
song was from Rascal Flatts - not quite as good as the
original, but these guys are so baccccccck - they were
energetic - they were themselves - they had fun - they had
their interplay back - they functioned as one.
Truly one of their best performances to date.
They just got their mojo back - they picked this song and
dedicated it to Andrew's uncle. |

Paige
She started
off the night - while I thought it was a bit high school
musical, she nailed it and it was fun. There
is an energy tonight. Love it! |
| Overall
Analysis
Great night
- two very weak acts in Ellona and Carlito.
Overall one of the best shows on X-Factor. They
added a group song at the end where each act gets a part -
this could be a trainwreck - I wonder how the low acts
that I picked this week will do - could the syrup duo of
Gomez and Morticia stink up the joint like they did in
their singular act? Gomez
really sucked - Morticia was less bad - Faux Michael
Jackson was awful. Even Carlito was almost
good and the asian hooker was okay. |
