Thunderview News - thunderview.blogspot.com

The Final Performance Show Is Tonight.   America is Thankful.

This night will boil down to which act can present a better sob story or appear to look like a star.

What this night won't be about is the ... music.

I originally wasn't going to watch this - but train wrecks have their moments.
I'll take the bullet so you won't have to.

Drum Roll - Here's My Take on This Week

 Alex & Sierra

I've left nothing to chance in my statements in previous reviews of my contempt for these two.    Apparently the audience is forgetting about the singing part of the competition and the sweety pie appearance of these two lesbians trumps all.    My ears bleed when I LISTEN to these two.   And when I watch them, I want to hurl.   Since these clowns don't blend well together with their singing voice and since she sings off key over 80% of the time and he never sings well, you have been warned.

And now we go into the diabetic attack of the evening.   The two lesbians are singing to each other - pitchy - and whining - this is a major chickification of the show, but it is not great.   It is dull - it is plodding - it is sickening - and then it breaks its pattern and has a weird segment - change of pace - that the "oooooooooooohs" and then it slows down to a funeral pace.   Absolutely horrible - even for them.

Alex and Sierra are paired up with someone named Leona Lewis - never heard of her and I'm sure that's because she's a typical digitally enhanced singer impersonator.    Good grief is there any ear left - so many piercings in that shrew's ear!    Now the deep voiced lesbian is singing - and here comes her shrill and pitchy bitchy.   Egads - they don't blend with the supposed star well - the deep voiced lesbian is awkward in this performance.   Like Simon said - a group that doesn't have much experience is harder to pull off and these two are absolute cement shoes to this song - they don't mesh at all with this supposed star.   Of course - now I know why this celebrity is on - to promote a new Christmas album!    Gotta have that plug!

Third song was absolutely awful - pitchy - vomit inducing - and horribly presented - one of the worst songs I've ever heard.   They might just finish last with that awful rendition.   It was a recycled song that they sang before but it was simply horrific.

UPDATE - Because Jeff Gutt was so awful, I am now predicting that the chick factor will prevail and this horrific duo of non-singers will win.   I'm ill.

 Carlito Olivero

America.   You've been set up.   This clown has no singing talent whatsoever.    He isn't even good looking.

But he is latino.

And we know how America panders to latinos today.

And we also know that the X-Crement Factor is tanking in ratings.   So in a desperate move, it has retained its bilingual pander machine in hopes of getting illegal aliens with televisions to watch this show.

This is the X-Crement Factor's "Dream Act" and we all know his sob story background.

Don't be surprised if this car-starter-sounding singer wins this competition.     While Simon intends to make the two lesbians the winner, he also sees a savior in this clown and Simon has stooped to a new low pandering to an audience who views themselves as something special.

And he opens singing in spanish!    And he did it horribly.   I am so spot on that he is pandering to the illegal alien watchers - you see you aren't speaking spanish if you are legally here - this is an outrageous exploitation of a segment of the population that has NO RIGHT TO BE HERE - pandering to the anchor children of illegals to get ratings.    This is America!   Sing in English ASSHOLE!    A truly horrific rendition - if he weren't hispanic, he'd have been gone long ago!

Then the latino-panderer did a duo with some latino pandering celebrity who remade a great old song and defiled it turning it into a latino song.    The vocals were off with Carlito and totally overshadowed by the stage craft and gimmicks.   This did not help him.   It merely cemented him being a gimmick for ratings.

Surprise - he pandered to the hispanics once again in his last song - makes no attempt to appeal to a wider audience.   Not even a very good attempt.    He'll finish third.

I can understand dipping into one's heritage and to go there once in a while, but this whole performer's efforts are PANDERING - he has so exploited his latino heritage it is disgusting and revolting.   He is a one trick pony - and pony's can't sing either.

 Jeff Gutt

Apparently this year has added the "I'll sing one for my son" take with this guy.   He can't sing anything other than rock and usually he sounds like a cheap impersonation that you'd find as a royalty free version on video producing sites.    Yeah, the story brings tears to viewer's eyes, but when it comes to brass tacks, this singer is Back to the Past in a big way - totally out of some time warp from the 1980's, this guy really has no game.

And so the predictableness of this show is going.   The lesbians were singing drippy love songs about licking snatch - the latino was singing spanish to his illegal alien audience - and Jeff was back in the 80's singing old songs, living in his own world - impersonating another old rocker.     This is a really awful show - there is nothing exciting here.

In Jeff's defense - most of the performance was at least sung well and in tune - there were rocker shrieks, but the odd thing is in the first round, he nailed the impersonation - he is not and never will be original -he is that tired old tattoo'd rocker image - but of the three acts - he is apparently the only one who can actually sing.    Because the other acts were so damned awful - he wins the first round.   I will vote for him just to not have the other pathetic acts to win.

Gutt gets to sing with John Reznik - never heard of him but I've heard his songs.   Wow is he not very good - he's lost a lot of his vocal ability or he's a digital recreation on his albums!   This performance wasn't really good - overshadowed by the song.   And nothing here highlights Gutt.   Maybe that is intentional?   And yet another artist on stage to promote a new album - I'm going to hurl.

Third song was his worst of the night - overdone at the wrong moments - he just cost himself the competition.

Overall Analysis

Round one - Jeff Gutt - hands down.    It wasn't he was great.   He was average.   But the other acts were so horrificly bad.    He stunk less and at least seemed to carry a few notes without handles.

Paulina Rubio did a song - typical use of the platform for the judges to sell more records.   It was totally worthless and proof she was either never very good or washed up now.

Jeff cost himself the win with that overdone song at the end that sounded like every other song he's sung and every other rocker in the world to date.    I seriously doubt now that the rockers in the audience will be big enough to overcome the obvious chick factor that will swoon for the sweetness and sickness of Alex and Sierra.    He needed a great performance and he delivered a youtube cover performance.
