Partial Transcript of Piers Morgan's Final Rant on Television Regular viewers will know that the issue of gun control has been a consistent and often very controversial part of this show. And I want to say something more about that before I bow out. I've lived and worked in America for much of the past decade. It's a magnificent country--a land of true opportunity that affords anyone, even British Chaunceys like me, the opportunity to live the American dream. The vast majority of Americans are very decent, hardworking, thoroughly dependable people. As my brother, a British army colonel, says, "You always want an American next to you in a trench when the going gets tough." But that's where, I think, guns belong: on a military battlefield--in the hands of highly-trained men and women fighting for democracy and freedom--not in the hands of civilians. The scourge of gun violence is a disease that now infects every aspect of American life. Each day, on average, 35 people in this country are murdered with guns; another 50 kill themselves with guns; and 200 more are shot, but survive. That's 100,000 people a year hit by gunfire in America. Now, I assumed that after 70 people were shot in a movie theater; and then, just a few months later, 20 first-graders were murdered with an assault rifle in an elementary school--that the absurd gun laws in this country would change, but nothing has happened. The gun lobby in America, lead by the NRA, has bullied this nation's politicians into cowardly, supine silence--even when 20 young children are blown away in their classrooms. This is a shameful situation that, frankly, has made me very angry. So angry, in fact, that some people are criticizing me for being too loud, opinionated, even rude when I've debated the issue of guns. But I make no apologies for that. As Sir Winston Churchill said, "If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile drive, hit the point once, then come back and hit it again. Then, hit it a third time--a tremendous whack." My point is simple: more guns doesn't mean less crime, as the NRA repeatedly tries to tell you. It means more gun violence, more death, and more profits for the gun manufacturers. And to those who claim my gun control campaigning has been anti-American--well, the reverse I true. I'm so pro-American, I want more of you to stay alive. But I've made my point. I've given it a tremendous whack. Now, it's down to you. It is your country. These are your gun laws. And the senseless slaughter will only end when enough Americans stand together and cry, enough! I look forward to that day. I also look forward to seeing you all again soon. It is a rare thing indeed for a leftist, a progressive, a socialist, or whatever label is now the proper way to categorize those who hate America and the Constitution to advocate for protecting the document.   It has become quite evident that you cannot be a leftist in today's world and be a Patriot - a Constitution-loving American.     This was not always the case, but we can dispense with the notion that there are any true Democrats that now consume oxygen.    You see, when JFK took that bullet, the real Democrats were snarfed out too and replaced by neo-communists, socialists, or progressive miscreants. And so it is not surprising that someone who has been rejected by his birth place would seek to impose his rather uninformed opinion on true Americans and those who actually understand quite clearly what the Constitution says and what those of his ilk would bastardize that document to say. Leftist have dispensed with holding dear things that are actually said to be clearly rights of Americans and limitations on Federalism.    Leftists today invent rights never once specified because it pleases them and their less than intelligent voters. Piers Morgan may contemplate that guns should belong to the military, but the Founding Fathers had no such notion - especially in the context that it was the citizen who revolted over the tyranny of the British Crown and that citizens with guns are compelled to take on tyranny.   So it is utterly laughable that the military, controlled by the State, should be the last bastion of holders of arms. Piers also clearly is not much of a scholar - American never was created to be a Democracy - it is a Representative Republic - and as such, we elect people to Represent us and mob rule is not the way this country was founded or intended to be run.   Democrats love democracy because they commit fraud with their very name - Democrats seek to impose the will of the minority on the masses which is violative of Democracy even in the implementation! When you consider that there are more deaths on highways and drownings in this country each year than through firearm incidents, we seem to have a bleeding heart for the latter and ignorance of the former.    And even if there was cause to notice gun violence and deaths, we have a Constitution that stands as the great protectorate of our rights - and the NRA is a good steward of that advocacy since Leftists are on the side of ignorance and abolition of our second Amendment (and no one ever says that the Democrats are bullies and extortionists when they trot out dead children from Sandy Hook to use as props and plenty of blubbering parents). Now leftists do have an avenue to amend this Constitution should those leftists decide to grow a set and some brain matter - but these wimps and stupid people seek to legislate away one of our sacred rights because it is easier - but amending the Constitution is the way it should and must be done - but that takes balls and some actual work to convince a higher threshold of opinion and votes to undertake. We do know that even disarming law-abiding citizens does not stop mass murder - Europe and Japan are shining examples of mass knifings and even mass shootings even when these countries have some of the most strict laws on the planet.   And China, a country that loves no rights of man, has recently had a mass slash and hack by our beloved friends - the mooslims. Gun control only removes guns from innocent people - criminals will always find guns and in almost every mass shooting, we have "gun free zones" where the carnage happened because the perpetrator had a gun and the innocents couldn't.    So much for criminals respecting gun control! Piers also ignores that in almost every case of a mass shooting, we have a complete nut job who was on medication or off it after having been on it who managed to get a gun!    How is it that we cannot make society safer by keeping control and tabs on our sickos so that they won't harm us or our families?    In some of these cases the wackos obtained guns legally (background checks aren't psychic) and in some instances the wackos stole (that means broke a law) to get their guns.   But in all cases the people who were killed had no opportunity to protect themselves with a legal firearm since those weapons were banned in the "gun free" zone. Perhaps we should ban all men from having firearms because we know women are complete and rational creatures - except of course when they invoke post or pre partem disorder as they drive their babies in the drink or stab them to death or drown them in a bathtub or use whatever female gender specific disorder of the day that they can cling to in order to commit multiple homicides.    And remember women have fabricated a claim that they have a right to control their bodies while killing other people and even forcing their sons to have their penises butchered against the will of the son without allowing him a chance to "control his own body".   So banning men and having guns isn't going to solve jack. So if you control guns like Morgan pleads us to do, we still have hypocritical women who commit mass murder using female disorders of the month excuses and also impose their will on their male children - so we can hardly expect that gun control will resolve those cases.    We also have the issue of the walking nut cases who should be institutionalized for the good of society and themselves.   How is it that leftists will support going the extra mile for a welfare brood mare who has babies with multiple sperm donors without regard for personal responsibility, but we can't get leftists to get the truly sick off our streets and away from us.    Even if we rounded up only the sickest and gave them the care they need, we'd have a more effective mass murder prevention scenario than anything Piers advocates! So I advocate the licensing of women who have abortions and who have killed their already born and implementing significant preventive steps to reduce female biology excuse violence.   Let's give our mental wackos the care they need and take it from the welfare brood mares.   Let us allow law abiding citizens who pass requisite checks and trainings to have concealed weapons - even in schools and in other public places.   Let's disband all gun free zones and encourage armed guards at schools.    We can't predict when nutcases will attack, but we can prepare to send them to hell should they try.
