“Let me say
to those quote ‘survivors’ . My God you have
survived and you
have soared. It was worth ... it was worth it, I
mean it
sincerely, just to hear each of you speak. You are truly,
truly inspiring. I have never heard anything so beautiful as to
what all of you have just said.”

From
the Wire
- Minutes into the vice president's speech at the Boston
marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Joe Biden Joe Bidened a
line in a manner that was quickly picked up by some who might
not particularly care for the man (comment: or providing
equal time to treat him like George W. Bush was treated when he
mangled the English language.)
Speaking to a
crowd of Boston bombing survivors, Biden said "it was worth
it" to come to Boston and see how the attack's victims have
"survived" and "soared."
Although
this moment of his speech was met with applause from
the audience (who probably assumed the vice president was
not insinuating he was happy about their suffering) the awkward
phrasing of the sentiment caught the attention of some.
We, like most viewers of the speech, assumed Biden was (poorly) talking about coming to the event, rather than the bombings themselves. Despite getting flagged by a Fox News reporter, the quote didn't even make it into the news channel's write-up of the tribute.

NOTE
ABOUT THE QUOTE ABOVE
It should be
noted that the article that is quoted here did not quote the
Vice President - it modified and inserted words he never said
and left out words he did say. I have posted
the correct transcript above without the leftist apologist and
history rewriting to save this buffoon's ass.
The Vice
President has a history of botching the English language in a
way that would have drawn attention by the media like they did
when George W. Bush opened his mouth and loaded both feet
inside. There was never any attempt by the leftist
media to qualify what Bush said - nor should there have been.
The same
treatment is not afforded to this clown, Vice President
(Democrat) Joe "Bite Me" Biden - instead of reporting
what he said and leaving it at that, the leftist media
repeatedly has first responders of the leftist kind to qualify
and to reinterpret and to restate what the Vice Perpetrator
really meant to say to save his pathetic and stupid comments
from giving him the Bush or Vice President Quayle treatment.
This clown is so
often engaged in foot in mouth disease that Denny Crane on
"Boston Legal" would have said he suffered from
"Mad Cow" disease.

About
What Was Said in the Quote
It must be a
comfort to the survivors in the audience to be merely air quote
survivors. When you state something
"quote" you aren't making a statement of certitude -
you are qualifying the word with a question of
legitimacy. So that alone is an insult to the
survivors because it is a fact that they did survive and no
qualification is needed.
The issue with
"It was worth it!" might seem like splitting hairs,
but when you understand that this clown is without question one
of the dumbest men to ever get elected and he continues to
showcase that fact with nearly every public speech, you have to
wonder what he was thinking.
Of course the
Vice President (a Democrat) was attempting to say that it was
"worth it to be here to hear you speak" - but somehow
the most brilliant Vice President in history has a problem
assembling words to support what he wants to say.
That assumes he really gave a damn and that he didn't mean
"it was worth it that you survived so that I could hear you
say what you just said."
