A week or so ago I adopted an unpopular and unconventional position on sexual harassment pinning some of the blame on REPEATED harassment solely in the lap of the SO-CALLED victims.

And I still stand by that position.

If you are assaulted by a pig, you are bound to report that pig - whether it be a man or a woman.   By virtue of you continuing to be subjected to harassment, you start to own a greater responsibility for your own abuse.    You live in the modern era where sexual harassment is a protected situation where victims have nothing to fear from retaliation - and if retaliation does happy - your case of becoming very rich becomes so much stronger.

What I did not say, however, was that I have zero tolerance for such predators - male or female - who use their power to obtain through extortion that which they can't get normally.    It is unbelievable that most people in power are so rich that they could easily buy a good time rather than inflicting damage onto a subordinate at a workplace.

I do not lump social situation, non-employment harassment as the same as employment-based - since there is no power to wield, the victim is free to escape and to not subject him/herself to the predation.   And if you are voluntarily drunk, you have paved the way to the end results of that poor decision making.   And if your predator is equally drunk, the predator should not be held to a higher standard of understanding the situation than the poor victim who voluntarily participated in the actions of the "crime".

There is a distinction here from true rape - a rape of a person who did not put his/herself in that situation and where resistance was futile and they were abused.   To me the predators of this type of action, not under the influence of intoxicants as a predator, should be dealt with by execution in a public spectacle and the bloodier the better.    I have no tolerance from innocent people who are abused.   And I don't call workplace harassment as being innocent - you have an out - you can report and be done with this; if  you continue to accept and to tolerate the abuse, you own that abuse.

Abuse in the workplace is not new or of a modern construct - and there is no modern creation of people profiting off the abuse by using their situation as a victim for advancement while whining about being abused; if you are a serial victim, tough shit.    Leave, report, or kill yourself.   You are an adult and being female doesn't give you a right to collect harassment situations like S&H green stamps which you can use to cash in once your dance ticket has been punched.     You get one chance, in my opinion, and if you are too lazy to report, you own your abuse.
