But I must take issue with his politicization of the gay cause in this modern world where there are no longer issues that separate gay America from straight America.
And gender speculators do not count. Their personal situation is their own minefield of their own choosing and America should never pander to the plight of the confused and misled.
Of course it is so in vogue for militant homosexuals like Kenworthy to whine that we have a Vice President who doesn't kiss gay ass at every turn - Hillary Clinton was so willing to cash three dollar checks to get your vote and then proud to ignore the gay community until the next election day.
I come from a perspective where I remember gay hate - where life as a gay man or woman was a living hell because America as a whole - far beyond rabid far-right Christians, thought of us as fudge-packers and where we were really getting gay bashed.
I also remember that it was the actual position of the gay community to shun gay marriage because that was society forcing their will upon us; and those of us who grew up in the 1970's and 1980's know all too well that even liberals weren't jockeying to support gay issues and our own community was doing precious little to control their sexual urges in the light of the gay plague - AIDS. And I know all too well that most homosexuals were promiscuous and were proud to live a lifestyle so outside of what normal decent people were doing.
Gus Kenworthy hasn't lived in that life - he knows jack shit about true adversity facing gay people - and he lives in a world where gays stole marriage to claim it as their own while limiting marriage to a dualistic institution that conveniently slammed the door on three or more adults seeking to have their relationships protected like precious gay ones.
I have to laugh at the childish position of Kenworthy - he acts like nothing has changed and that he is unique as an Olympic athlete - hell, we've had fairies and queers as athletes for decades - I can imagine that most male figure skaters were packing fudge and sucking on skin flutes without really hiding their flamboyant personas. Honestly, queers and lesbos have for years participated in Olympic sports and had relationships with same gendered athletes - this is nothing new. If Kenworthy thinks he is such an advocate for our lives, then who the fuck cares if he kisses his boyfriend on camera? I don't want to see straight people swallowing tongues on cam and certainly don't want to see self-righteous fags doing the same. Kenworthy is not on the Olympic team because he pole vaults on a 10 inch penis or is a championship fellatiator.
Gus Kenworthy is decades late with his celebration of gay issues and the ship has sailed on 99% of issues facing gay people. There is no hero here - just a credit stealing jerk who really has no issue to advocate other than being a selfish asshole who is claiming glory he hasn't earned.
