UV News Service Report via CBS NEWS
Those who read this blog on a regular basis know that I don't jump on and support every situation where a gay person feels his nose is out of joint because of perceived "discrimination". Lord knows I supported the baker who refused to make a "gay marriage cake" even though he'd make the gay couple a cake without the trappings of the insults that the baker perceived that is gay marriage against his religion. And you all know I despise "gay marriage" since that is a bastardization of a RELIGIOUS institution by CIVIL AUTHORITIES and then only redefined to meet the narrow and equally bigoted view that only two people should be allowed to marry as the door is shut on non-binary coupling that is equally as important.
However, what we have here is a true case of discrimination, a gay male couple who had already boarded a flight and placed their well dressed bodies (likely well groomed as well) in a premium section; meanwhile a breeder couple had taken their time getting to the airport and had not acquired their seats in a timely fashion and discovered that one of the "couple's" seats was a double booked one; instead of telling the late arrived straight couple to go pound sand and to split up with one to stay in premium and the other to go to coach, Alaska Airlines decided to tell the men to split the hell up. The offer was blunt - separate with one taking his wonderful visage to coach where he would likely be seated next to a 300 pound female with questionable hygiene practices and then to allow his other male half to sit in premium seats next to the late arriving straight couple.
Gladly for the gay couple they told Alaska Airlines to go fuck themselves and found that Delta Airlines was prepared to actually have to gay men to sit next to each other and to not be treated as second class citizens. It should be noted that the Alaska Airlines personnel could not spot the owner of a gay restaurant and his travel companion as homosexuals. I'm sure there was more than enough swish to wake up even Ray Charles.
This, ladies (real ones) and gentlemen (real ones) is what discrimination is about and the resolution is about.
Not reported in the CBS account is that Alaska Airlines has a history of gay unfriendly practices.
For the record, the gay couple who went with Delta have nothing but good things to say about Delta Airlines and advocate a total boycott against Alaska Airlines; I concur - avoid this nasty airline and never give them any more gay money; let them have their breeders.
