There is now a controversy surrounding the "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" cartoon with its treatment of the token black character, Franklin.

First, Franklin's name is not invented with a typical black fashion.   Instead of inserting an apostrophe to impose an obvious black identifier to the name like "Frankl'n", Franklin was given a white name with white spelling.    And it is spelled correctly.    Obviously this was a racist slam against Franklin having a white name imposing upon his blackness.

Second, poor Franklin.  He was seated across from all the white characters (if you ignore the white ones sitting at the ends of the table).   Franklin is all alone in his blackness.   What is striking is that Franklin doesn't seem offended by the isolation and his tokenism.  

Third, Franklin is seated upon a very casual fold up chair.   The black racist industry has suddenly taken issue with Franklin being alone and in a fold up chair while even the dog is given a real chair.   Interestingly the race-baiting industry that is now whining to the tune of crap music has failed to grasp that each chair is of a different color (oh, the diversity!) and that the white chick sitting with the back of her head toward us is sitting in an obviously metal green porch chair that is not like the other white characters that have the wooden regular chairs.    I guess if you must race hate you have to ignore the facts that are clearly offered here.

Fourth, I'm at a loss at how the gay character, Shroeder, is left out of this while there was the inclusion of the dyke, Peppermint Patty.    It is outrageous to me that we'd have a token dyke and a token black character but no representation of a homosexual character; and we can only surmise that we don't have a gender speculating character offered for our enjoyment unless Snoopy is really a chick trapped in a dog's body.

Fifth, how come Franklin has two containers of popcorn near him while there are desserts all near the honkey and dog characters.   Obviously Franklin is being treated unfairly with popcorn teasers.

Sixth, why is Franklin being subjected to a female chair with pink and white fabric when he really should be rewarded with an NBA team logo and athletic wear with LeBrick James' shoes to accent his black and maleness.

I can see how this picture would get one of the profiteers of the Race Baiting Industry all hot and bothered.   Instead of appreciating this as a cartoon of childhood innocence, we have to take a dead Charles Schultz to task while we fail to hear from these race baiters about the anti-women and pro-violence nature of that shit that is called crap music.
