I had no idea who "Home Free" was until I was putting together my extensive Independence Day 24 hour marathon tribute and I stumbled across this group performing with Lee Greenwood in his remake video of "God Bless the USA" which is featured in my Country Playlist in the number one slot (at the time of the posting of this thread). It should be noted that this song is now the official music video of this blogazine because of its rich Americana sound.
I was curious to see what this group has done and the above video showcases why this group will likely be propelled to stardom after the work with Lee Greenwood. "How Great Thou Art" has been done ad nauseum by numerous artists, but few reach the depth of absolute audio tribute that this performance has done. "Home Free" won the 4th season of NBC's "Sing Off" in 2013. I never heard of the show before so I had no idea about them. It appears that several members have come and gone, but the core has now crystallized into a tour de force group that has its best days ahead. I have also reviewed their performances on this show (also on youtube) and I wasn't all that impressed. They certainly have found the "it" factor and there is nothing to stop them from taking America by storm.
