Wake Up, Wendys! Your Fries Suck!

Wendy's has spent considerable money advertising their new "natural cut french fires with sea salt".   Since 1969 through 2010, Wendy's had old-fashioned thick-cut fries available which served them well.  During the 1980's, the fries became slightly thinner and with the new cut, out went the old fashioned french fry boat that had your fries in a flat container where it was easier to put on your ketchup if you so preferred.

But the new owners of Wendy's (Arby's which is not doing well financially), has seen fit to ruin just about everything that Dave Thomas invented and that worked for millions of Americans.

These new "natural cut" fries are horrific in taste and are almost NEVER delivered hot and fresh.   In the multiple visits I've had at Wendy's, I've been served HOT and FRESH french fries twice - all at the same Wendy's - all at a Wendy's that is 45 minutes away from my home (I visit my folks and visit this Wendy's for something to eat on the way home).

Wendy's problem has long been a product of indifferent and poor training.   Their customer service is some of the worst in the industry.   And yet they have window stickers about some organization giving Wendy's props for three years in a row!

Bullshit!

These new french fries suffer EXACTLY the same issues that sank their old fries - soggy fries - fries pulled from the shortening before their timers go off - cold or luke warm fries - and inconsistent portioning.    What is maddening is that Wendy's appears to have done what other fast food eateries have done - use a recipe or type of fry that makes holding times longer and allows idiots who can't and won't smile to cook more fries and hold them well past their prime.   And sadly introducing new fries has not resulted in any apparent training on the importance of serving fresh fries at ALL TIMES.    The only time you will get a WARM fry at Wendy's is at lunch.   The busier the time, the greater the chance you might luck out and get a product that is hot.   Visit after lunch, during the evening, or God forbid at late night, and the crews don't give a flying fock about quality.

Let me state this loud and clear:  I WOULD WAIT FOR HOT FRIES IF GIVEN THE CHANCE!

I made the mistake one time to actually ask to make sure that I would get "hot fries".    LaQuisha nearly read me the riot act why I couldn't get "no hot fries".   I learned that the customer is never right at Wendy's these days and don't ask the hired help for hot products.

Sadly, the "I don't give a damn!" approach isn't restricted to each individual unit.    I shared my complaint via Wendy's online complaint system and left exhaustive, factual, and non-threatening language and asked for the district manager to contact me.

Well, the cunt took the easy road and responded to me via a form email with all this bullshit about how Wendy's cares and we are sorry for your unpleasant visit.    I know this was from the asshole District Manager because her name was on the email.    Whether this was an automatic thing she activated or she just took enough time to use a form email, I don't know.

With that said, I replied to this email with an exhaustive and detailed chronology of the visits (I am anal) and provided specific issues (without threats or insults).   Also note that my phone number was provided on my initial complaint and my responding email to the bitch District Manager!    I have received no phone call nor have a received a reply to my extensive email two weeks ago.    Of course Wendy's has a system where your complaint will ultimately result in you receiving another email with a code to give you $2 off a big sandwich or salad.

Big Whoop!

I sit here writing you this after having another piece of shit serving of french fries.    And since complaining at the store and complaining to the company hasn't worked, I'm now letting Wendy's dirty laundry air out in public.     Enjoy!

UPDATE:  I am perfectly qualified to judge and to comment on Wendy's standards.   For 16 years I worked for Wendy's with my last 10 years being a training store manager for them.   I know what is acceptable and what isn't and I have met Dave Thomas in real life (after my store won a speed of service contest).   I trained managers in standards and practices at Wendy's and had operated a store that had annual sales of $1.5 million back in 1997 before prices have nearly doubled for most products at today's prices.   I left Wendy's in 1997 when I finally burned out from the rat race and just as Wendy's was infected with inferior District Managers from Pizza Hut and other companies who had inferior standards.   It is evident that this lax and lip service paid to quality has completely infected the company and no one gives a damn anymore.
