Mac News: For What It is Worth

Taking a bite from an Apple can now be dangerous to your health.   Two recent articles in cyberspace have caught my eye.   Of course I gain no sense of glee from these articles, but they are offered to provide education to Mac Useres who might not otherwise bother to read these articles.

Apple Tones Down Mac Virus Immunity Claims After Recent Infections 

"Apple has made some changes to how it describes Macs' resistance to viruses following a wave of infections in April. The Flashback botnet affected hundreds of thousands of computers, the vast majority of which were running OS X, so the longstanding claim that "It doesn’t get PC viruses" was clearly no longer tenable."    Read more....

Report: Mac users guided to pricier hotels on Orbitz

"Orbitz Worldwide Inc has found that people who use Apple Inc's Mac computers spend as much as 30 percent more per night on hotels, so the online travel agency is starting to show them different, and sometimes costlier, travel options than Windows visitors see, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.
