John arrived on the cusp of being on time and ultimately settled
in 5 minutes late and then gave us a hint of things to come in
the relaunch.
Some of the items
he covered were that there is going to be attention to the cams
and they should be operational again by the weekend; more
tablets coming and other hardware upgrades expected.
Thursday you will
likely experience the first of the relaunch issues as they screw
around with the login and make it so that you have to go through
the portal. I'm not at all clear as to what is
going to be done - I personally will find every way to avoid the
portal because it offers nothing I want to see.
John covered
Payton extensively and Alan's nose was due to surgery and not
related to anything Payton had done. Lot's of time
was spent on Payton and to me it is water under the
bridge. He's gone. I loathe the ground
he walks on and hope he never comes back. |
He
talked a bit about Josie and getting the house fixed back up
after being neglected for 6 months (a nice dig in Leo's
direction).
He also took a
dig at the "rags" which he suggests spread gossip
(well, if you want your message out, then you should get
off your ass and get a blog and maintain it). We
can't help it that we are doing your company's job and you
aren't.
John also opined
that he didn't like being painted as a liar.
Portal is
supposed to have lots of content like a 24 hour tv network (like
Leo already offers) and all of your account stuff should be
accessible through the portal.
I endured this
show and have boiled down the points as there really wasn't much
there that was new. We've been down this road before
and this new portal shit is coming whether we like it or not.
