I was hoping Ellen would be good and funny tonight. I don't know if she writes her own material or not; if she doesn't, if she can fire her staff, she should do so and sue them.
Ellen was awful. She was absolutely not funny and she was amateurish in some portions of the show. She was tacky, catty, and silly.
As for the rest of the show it was often awful and totally political and predictable. It takes no courage to do a movie about slavery especially when your President is half black and your first lady's family were slave owners.
No surprises tonight - nothing good much happened.
I did wonder how all of these self-righteous "greenies" could support a show that creates so much CO2 in direct transportation and electricity used to produce, create, and run this show. Wouldn't it be greener to just have a webcast and to email the certificates to the winners to their iPads?
Sorry, Ellen. You sucked. And it appears doubtful you do this again. I was disappointed.
